Video conferencing is increasingly becoming a standard part of the educational tool set.  But providing the most effective education experience possible has its challenges – managing instructor shortages to enriching educational content to complying with standards.   Distance Education professionals regularly work with limited budgets and limited staff, but they should not receive limited support. The Distance Education SIG is a virtual meeting place for PUG Members in the Education sector to network and learn about the latest trends in conferencing and collaboration.

Members of the Distance Education SIG include, but are not limited to:

• K thru 12 Schools
• Colleges and Universities
• Training and Education Departments of Enterprise/Industry Companies

The goals of the Distance Education SIG include:

• Learn about the latest products and services to assist you in your day-to-day operations
• Network with other collaboration and conferencing professionals within education as well as Polycom Executives and staff
• Address any challenges Distance Education SIG members are now encountering
• Provide input on future Distance Education SIG meeting topics

The Distance Education SIG is currently led by Craig Ernst from PUG and Russ Colbert, Global Education Market Director, Polycom.
